Omari Wilson grew up in West End, Mebane — a community founded by formerly enslaved people after the Civil War — where his parents and neighbours built the West End Revitalization Association to fight for water, sewer and paved roads the town had never provided, deficits that were eroding both property values and public health. He went to law school because of it, then spent roughly eighteen years in non-profit public interest law helping financially distressed North Carolina property owners keep their homes, land and farms, before founding his own firm to carry the same work forward: estate planning and heirs property preservation for families across the state. He still works with WERA today.
