About Master Blend Family Farms, LLC

Master Blend Family Farms raises pasture pork in Kenansville and sells it across the Eastern United States. The farm distributes to restaurants, high-end eateries and professional sports stadiums. A farm store sells pork and other North Carolina made products directly to customers, and a mobile food truck serves meals on location. Catering covers whole hog barbecue, chopped barbecue, ribs and sides, with staffed on-site service. The farm also breeds Rottweilers.

Master Blend is a third-generation farming operation. James McGowan grew hogs and corn to feed them from 1965 to 1997. Master Blend Family Farms was established in 2012 and has specialized in pasture raised pork since. Recognition followed: the 2016 James Sprunt New Biz Small Business Challenge, 2017 Martin Luther King Jr. Entrepreneur of the Year, and 2018 NC Small Farmer of the Year.
