About KS AFRICAN HAIR BRAIDING
Protective styling is the core of the shop: knotless and box braids, stitch braids, faux and butterfly locs, twists, crochet styles, sew-in weaves and natural styling, plus gentle kids' braiding for ages 5 to 10 using low-tension techniques that spare the scalp. Ten braiders work the floor, so multi-hour styles can be booked without a long wait, and consultations are free. Braids are cut to last four to six weeks with proper care. The attached beauty supply store carries professional-grade hair care, accessories and styling tools, so the products used in the chair can be taken home. Clients travel in from Raleigh, Rolesville, Youngsville, Franklinton, Zebulon, Louisburg and Durham.
Founded in Wake Forest by owner Kadiatou Keita, KS African Hair Braiding & Beauty Supply pairs traditional African hair design with a modern beauty supply counter under one roof at 11216 Capital Blvd. Keita built the shop around a team of ten professional braiders drawn from across the African diaspora, and the salon has grown into a destination for protective styling across the northern Triangle.
