About Glorious Crown Hair Salon
Glorious Crown Hair Salon is a natural hair salon on Ligon Mill Road in Wake Forest, owned by stylist Melinda Jill Crudup. It has since grown into two sites — the original hair salon, and Glorious Crown Salon & Spa on Rogers Road — and both are Aveda exclusive salons, working with a plant-infused, vegan and sustainable product line. Crudup is a Wake Forest native who trained at Durham Beauty Academy. Locs are her specialism: thickening, growing, hydrating, stimulating, adding extensions and instant locing across any texture, with client education built into the service. "Locs are misunderstood and I'm here to educate you," she writes. "I will always invest in your crown, because it's something you will never be able to take off." The team runs deeper than the chair. Tricia Holloway manages the salon, holding a Natural Hair Specialist qualification from Wake Tech and a dual degree in Psychology and Organizational Administration. Patrick Crudup is Director of Operations, and Dr. J'den Williams works on growth and expansion as a fractional COO. Matheshia Roberts manages the spa. Behind the chairs are Sherrel Yvonne Hood, a master stylist with 25 years' experience who is also a holistic herbalist and wellness coach; Traciana, a licensed cosmetologist and body contouring specialist; Brinita, a natural hair specialist who makes her own products; Genay; Tshingy; Arlena; and Sydney, who covers nails, waxing, lash extensions and facials at the Salon & Spa. The salon states its values plainly — community, accountability, consistency and trust — and backs them up: it donates services, products and time locally, supports other Black-owned businesses nearby, and runs a high school internship. Seniors aged 65 and over get 30% off every Wednesday, excluding treatments, trims and extensions. Newest is the Japanese Head Spa. Bridal packages and private bookings are also offered.
