About Harlem Breakfast Club

Harlem Breakfast Club is a take-out breakfast restaurant at 2167 Adam Clayton Powell Jr Boulevard in West Harlem. There is no dining room — everything is to go — and it runs 5am to 5pm, Tuesday through Sunday, closed Mondays. The motto is "breakfast all day," and the prepared-to-order breakfast menu is entirely pork-free. Bacon and sausage come as turkey, beef or chicken. The kitchen leans Southern. Salmon cakes, shrimp or fried catfish all come over creamy Southern-style grits. The Harlem Scramble is cage-free egg with chicken sausage, seasoned potatoes, peppers, onion, roasted tomatoes and smoked Gouda. There are wings and waffles, stacked French toast, and pancakes and Belgian waffles in nine flavours from banana walnut to Reese's peanut butter chips. Sandwiches come on buttered Texas toast, with brioche or a pretzel bun for extra. The Mc'Gee is five slices of beef bacon, egg and American cheese on brioche with Mike's Hot Honey. A full plant-based menu runs alongside, built on JUST Egg and Beyond Sausage — vegan pancakes, a vegan skillet, and the Vegan Delight on a pretzel bun.

Harlem Breakfast Club opened on 6 August 2022 on Adam Clayton Powell Jr Boulevard. It was started with a stated purpose rather than just a menu. The shop describes itself as created to keep Harlem alive at a moment when, in its own words, new influences and cultures were flowing into the neighbourhood — and says it aims to be a direct reflection of what Harlem is. Its tagline is simply "created to inspire." The take-out-only format was a decision, not a limitation, and the shop asks people to plan for it when making the trip uptown.
