About Gk Cafe and Catering
GK Café and Catering serves home-cooked Southern food in Greenville. The family-run café offers breakfast, lunch and dinner menus plus daily specials, using recipes passed down through generations. The dining room and conference room seat 75 and host private dinners, events and meetings. Catering covers weddings, cocktail parties and corporate events, from preparation through cleanup. Clients include hospitals, physician offices, ECU, PCC, churches and local businesses. Carry-out is available.
Two sisters, Gail Roberts Phelps and Kaye Roberts, opened GK Café on April 6, 2009 on East 10th Street after years serving in church hospitality, waiting tables and cooking their mother's recipes. The 1,130-square-foot café seated 36 and started with three staff. It expanded in December 2011 to 3,328 square feet, renovated the kitchen in 2014, and partnered with the Greenville Country Club for catering in 2016.
