About Canvas Nailz

Canvas Nailz is the working name of Raleigh nail artist Ganessa B. Rowland, who also builds under the banner The Canvas District. The studio is acrylic-led. A full set starts as set application over the natural nail finished in a single plain color, priced by length: short, medium, long, XL, and a longest tier the menu calls Extendo, from $70 up to $110. Design work — the part the studio is known for — is quoted on top of that base, per nail, because no two hands are asked to carry the same drawing. Maintenance is treated as its own craft. A fill-in is not a quick top-up but a rebalance: the existing structure is reworked, new growth filled, the shape recut, and the surface refinished in gel polish, again scaled by length from $60 to $100 and reserved for returning clients whose sets Rowland built. For a lighter application there is overlay — acrylic laid over short natural nails rather than an extension — at $75 for a full set and $65 to fill. The signature is character work. Freestyle and character sets translate cartoons and pop-culture figures into hand-painted nail art, full-hand compositions that read as small illustrations rather than accent nails. French tips, listed as Frenchies, and PolyGel round out the menu, and press-on sets in the same hand are sold separately through canvasnailz.com for clients who want the art without the chair time. Feet get the same acrylic attention. The Full Spa pedicure runs a gel-polish service with massage and a salt-scrub mask at $65; the Toe BBL adds sculpted acrylic to the big toes with French tips included, at $95, or $85 as a maintenance fill within a two-month window. The studio states plainly that it does not offer dry pedicures and that acrylic-toe fills are its own work only. Combination bookings pull it together — an all-acrylic makeover of nails and toes with designs included at $250, a two-person freestyle sitting, and a men's mani-and-pedi. Rowland also teaches. A one-on-one nail-art course is offered at $125 and a longer Beginners Nail Course at $400, held by deposit, passing the same acrylic-and-design technique to newer techs. Canvas Nailz runs by appointment only, booked through Acuity Scheduling rather than walk-in, which suits work quoted design-by-design and length-by-length. It is a single-artist studio: the person who answers the booking is the person at the table.

Canvas Nailz grew from Ganessa B. Rowland's custom nail-art practice in Raleigh into a fuller studio that now spans made-to-order acrylic sets, a retail line of press-ons at canvasnailz.com, and hands-on teaching under the name The Canvas District. The work that draws people in is the character art — hand-painted, full-hand designs based on cartoons and pop-culture figures — with freestyles, French tips, overlays, and PolyGel rounding out the menu. Rowland runs the studio by appointment only, quoting design work per nail and pricing acrylic sets by length, and she limits fills to sets she built herself. As the studio matured she added nail classes, passing the same acrylic-and-design technique to newer techs through one-on-one sessions and a beginners course.
