About Tropic on Water
A Caribbean lounge in downtown Milwaukee serving authentic Jamaican fare with a modern twist, including jerk wings, Walkerswood wings and Tropic pizza from a scratch kitchen. The bar pours signature island cocktails, mocktails and frozen drinks, and hookah is available in the remodeled lounge. Private parties, corporate events and catering packages are handled by a private events manager, and online ordering, delivery and reservations are offered. The atmosphere is geared toward mature adults looking for a refined night out.
Tropic was started by a mother-daughter duo. Hyacinth Nembhardt grew up in the Bronx with strong ties to her Jamaican roots and a love of Caribbean food and culture passed down from her Jamaica-born father, which shaped the lounge's menu and atmosphere. The business has been featured on Bar Rescue and has a sister bar, Concoctions.
