About Textured Hair Care Academy

Textured Hair Care Academy teaches braiding, locs and natural hair care in Seaside. Classes run hands-on in small cohorts of six students, covering parting, loc installation and maintenance, client experience and professional development. Short intensives cover loc mastery, precision parting, and a kids' class for parents and caregivers. Founder Imanyi Hobbs also takes loc and styling clients. Salon booths and a private suite are available for rent.

Imanyi Hobbs was born at CHOMP and raised largely in the Mississippi Delta, returning to the Peninsula after the pandemic to support and expand her family. She founded Textured Hair Care Academy to close a gap she saw in her community, where many people were never taught how to care for their hair.
