About Shapes Beauty Bar

A full-service salon and spa on U Street NW operating out of two locations a few doors apart, with the second address, Shapes Next Door, dedicated entirely to spa treatments. Hair services cover silk presses, blowouts, relaxers and touch-ups, full color and full foil highlights, quick weaves, traditional sew-ins, full lace wig installs, bobs, sleek and unique ponytails, two-strand twists, and braiding including box, knotless, lemonade, poetic justice, cornrows and straight-backs. Nail work ranges from basic full sets and fill-ins to Swarovski stone bling sets. Lash offerings include classic, hybrid mix and mega sets plus fills, and brow services cover microblading and touch-ups, brow ombrting combinations, and waxing. Makeup is booked as a natural or glam beat. Skin and body treatments include 30-minute, customized, deep cleanse and back facials, body contouring packages at bronze, silver and gold tiers, cellulite treatment, scar tissue and lipo lump work, vacuum therapy, aftercare massage, and Swedish, deep tissue and sports massage. Also offered: fibroblast, teeth whitening, Juvederm and Restylane lip, facial and body fillers, vaginal steams and sexual health products, and waxing. Training is available through a body contouring course, group class, and a lash extension course.

Shapes Beauty Bar opened December 8, 2019 at 1530 U St. NW and is owned and operated by Chyna. After years of struggling with depression and low self-esteem, she built the business around blending beauty, self-esteem and women's health with a therapeutic touch, studying products and techniques meant to reach beauty and body goals faster than traditional methods. In September 2020 the business expanded with a second location, Shapes Next Door, a full-service spa a few doors down at 1522 U St. NW.
