About Sabine's Hallway Natural Hair Salon / Crown Spa
A full-service natural hair salon in Bedford-Stuyvesant working on chemically untreated, textured hair, with loc installation, micro locs, Sisterlocks, creative coloring, precision cuts, silk press, updos, children's services and microblading. Products used are paraben- and sulfate-free. The attached Crown Spa adds scalp and body wellness treatments including protein boosts, exfoliating scalp renewal, loc detox, infrared sauna therapy, red light therapy and hair restoration therapy. Stylists are also available for weddings, fashion shows, photo and video shoots, and live performances; all visits are by appointment.
Owner Sabine Bellevue, a licensed cosmetologist and certified Sisterlocks consultant with over 25 years in the beauty industry, opened her first salon in 2006 and later expanded it to include health and wellness services. She has worked with clients including Lena Waithe and Issa Rae, spoken and hosted workshops at natural hair events across the Tri-State area, and been featured in The New York Times, Essence, Centric and Braids & Beauty. She also wrote a children's book, Shampoo Day with Grandma, about Haitian culture and natural hair, and works with the NYC CPP Internship Program, NYCares and Children of Promise NYC. The team includes stylist Nicole D, a natural hair stylist of over 20 years, and salon manager Daphney Badoe, who has supported clients for more than a decade.
