A natural hair and loc studio in a suite at Salons by JC on Falls of Neuse Road, run by LaSheka. Locs are the heart of it and the menu is priced with unusual precision — retwists and retwist-and-style separated by length from shoulder to waist, interlocking by density from low to high, palm roll with two-strand twist by length, and pipe cleaner sets by length. Beyond maintenance: loc installation, micro locs with extensions, loc combinations by the hour, ACV detox bundles, reattachment priced by the number of locs, miracle knots, and sprinkles at $5 a loc. Extensions cover Cuban twists, kinky and spring twists, Senegalese twists, knotless braids in medium and large, invisible locs, feed-in braids, traditional box braids and crochet. On loose natural hair there are silk presses, wash-n-gos, twist and braid outs, bantu knots, flat twists, two-strand twists, cornrows in designer and straight-back, trims and detangling. Colour runs from a non-permanent rinse and henna up to full colour with retwist or retie. Treatments include protein, a full protein bundle, micro steam and an infrared light panel. Mobile service is available from $1,100, and there is even a beginner yoga session on the books. All four consultation types are free, and new clients must book one before any service.

Refreshed & Renewed Styles operates out of a suite inside Salons by JC off Falls of Neuse Road in North Raleigh, where LaSheka works one client at a time rather than running a floor.
