He is a second-generation professional photographer who grew up in upstate New York. The U.S. Marine Corps brought him to North Carolina. He earned an engineering degree from North Carolina State University and spent 16 years at Intel Corporation before photography became his full-time work. He is in his 26th year of professional photography. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board for the Professional Photographers of North Carolina and sits on the Council for the Professional Photographers of America.
