About Patina Porch
A bar and restaurant on Sandusky's west end with a large patio overlooking the Mills Creek marshland and its wildlife. Cocktails are handcrafted and available with or without spirits, using fresh ingredients from on-site gardens — the Lemon Lavender Wren, for example, combines lavender syrup, lemonade, soda and fresh lavender, optionally based with Empress Indigo Gin. The bar also pours domestic and micro-brewed beers, seltzers, juices, sparkling water, coffee and tea, with drink menus that change as the gardens bloom. Food currently runs to appetizers and flatbread pizzas, and the site shares its grounds with other artisan businesses, including The Plant & The Potter, Sandusky Salvage & Design and Mantiques Studio and Art Gallery.
The bar sits on the Patina Creek grounds on West Monroe Street, a historic property known locally as the old Toft's Dairy. Most of the materials used to build Patina Porch and Patina Creek came from the architectural salvage collection of Sandusky Salvage & Design, owned by property owner Ben Byington, and nearly everything on view is for sale. Patina Creek also operates as a rentable venue for artist markets, weddings, receptions, and private and corporate events, with parking used to host local food truck vendors.
