About Patience Natural Hair Care

A loc studio, and an unusually precise one: nearly every service is priced separately by loc length, so a short retwist is $100, medium $140, long $180 and mid-back to waist $290, each with its own version adding a deep condition, an apple cider vinegar detox or curls. Beyond maintenance there is interlocking with or without styling, micro loc reties, wick tightening, loc trims from $25, per-case loc repair by consultation, and an ACV detox as an add-on. Starter locs run $200, or $180 on short hair; starter micro locs are a ten-hour job priced at consultation, and loc extensions are a twelve-and-a-half hour booking. Colour covers tips, full head, touch-ups and basic grey coverage on their own, or bundled with shampoo and retwist from $250 to $400 by length. Kids aged 5 to 15 have their own retwist rate at $70, or $85 with a deep condition. Loose natural styling, curls and pipe cleaner sets are also on the menu. Every service starts from a $25 consultation. Open Tuesday to Friday 8am–6pm and Saturday 8:30am–1pm; closed Sunday and Monday. Booking is online.

Patience Natural Hair Care works out of 1020 Crosslink Road in Raleigh, run by loctician Shannon Dobbin Jones. The studio is built almost entirely around locs — not as a style to sell once, but as something a client returns to for years, which is why the service menu is broken out so finely by length and by what a particular head needs that visit. Shannon works with natural hair care products throughout, and her portfolio runs from first starter sets and children’s retwists to full-colour work and repair on locs grown well past waist length.
