About Parlour VII

An appointment-only studio with an unusually wide book for a single stylist. Locs are the deepest part of it: starter locs, wash and retwist, interlocking, pipe cleaner sets, invisible locs, loc knot bobs, sprinkles, detox and per-loc repair at $7 a loc, plus kids’ loc styles. Extensions run to iTips, microlinks, tape-ins, traditional sew-ins and crochet, and there are men’s hair units. Braids and twists cover jumbo box braids, Senegalese and two-strand twists, feed-ins, flat twists and kids’ cornrows. Colour is a real speciality — custom colour, double process, highlights, balayage and ombré — alongside cuts for women and men, relaxers, blowouts and sleek and Jasmine ponytails. She also does microblading, individual lashes and lash strips, nose piercing and facial treatments. Two retail products carry her name: the Chatiera Nicole P7Pro flat iron at $95 and Sevoyl hair oil at $7. Consultations are free and run 30 minutes; booking is through Booksy, and the address is given once an appointment is confirmed. Parlour VII Studio has been running since 2015 and has grown into one of the better-known chairs in the Raleigh–Durham area. Chatiera Nicole was doing hair long before she was licensed — that came in 2016, at her mother’s insistence, by way of the Aveda Institute Chapel Hill. The studio takes its motto from Madam C.J. Walker, the first great Black hair care entrepreneur: "Perseverance is my motto." Its own line, "Turned my Birthday into a Lifestyle!", points at how Chatiera treats styling — as ongoing self-care rather than something you do once for an event. It stays appointment-only by design, so each client gets unhurried attention instead of a walk-in queue.
