Peter R. Masciola, a retired Air Force Brigadier General and JAG officer, previously served as in-house counsel at two Air Force medical centers and oversaw the investigation and disposition of Air Force medical malpractice claims nationwide; he was named DC Trial Lawyer of the Year in 2009. Tamara L. Miller, a retired Air Force Lieutenant Colonel JAG and former Senior Executive Service official, focuses on federal civil rights matters including employment discrimination and denial of access to health care and social services. Both attorneys serve as volunteer guardians ad litem through the DC Volunteer Lawyers Project.

The firm is run by Peter Masciola and Tamara Miller, who are married and have two children. Masciola spent 30 years in the Regular and Reserve Air Force, including a tour in Afghanistan and 17 months as Chief Defense Counsel of the Guantanamo Bay Military Commissions. Miller was born in Korea, adopted by an African American family in Muskegon, Michigan, and earned her JD from the University of Michigan Law School in 1985 before holding senior positions at the Department of Justice Civil Rights Division, HHS, and TSA.
