About Kay's Island Grill

Kay's Island Grill serves soul food and Caribbean cooking in Miami Gardens. The kitchen turns out griot, oxtails, curry chicken and shrimp, fried red snapper, Haitian spaghetti, djon djon rice and rasta pasta. Breakfast runs to velvet waffles, omelettes and plantain porridge. Orders can be placed online for pickup or delivery. Catering covers weddings, birthdays and corporate events, with delivery, setup, teardown, chafer rentals and servers available.

Chef Kay learned to cook beside her mother. Born in Miami to Haitian parents, with Jamaican siblings, Bahamian cousins and a stepmother from Trinidad and Tobago, she blends soul food and Caribbean cooking. Her son is also active in the family business.
