About Ecker's Apple Farm
A family-run orchard on the Great River Road growing 20 apple cultivars, including Honeycrisp, with pick-your-own apples in September and u-pick blueberries in July. The farm market carries scratch apple pies, hand-dipped caramel apples, gourmet caramel, honey from the farm's apiary, specialty foods, hard cider sloshies and fresh cider slushies. Hog's Back Brew Farm operates the on-site beer garden on weekends from July through October, alongside live music, food trucks, trivia, train rides and a fall co-ed volleyball league. The farm also hosts up to three orchard weddings each year, limited to June, with ceremony-plus-reception or reception-only packages.
The orchard has been family-owned near Trempealeau, Wisconsin since 1945. Peter and Mary Ecker married in 1977 and began planting apple trees on a large scale, creating the commercial orchard that stands today. Since Pete's death in 2009 the farm has been run by the women of the family — Mary Ecker, Sara Ecker-Foster and Jessica Ecker — with Simon DeGabriele helping out, and a fifth generation born in 2021.
