Collette was raised in Palestine and graduated from Westwood High School and Trinity Valley Community College before earning a business administration degree cum laude from Sam Houston State University and a Doctorate of Jurisprudence with honors from South Texas College of Law Houston. Her interest in law began when she fought her own child custody case without an attorney, and she entered law school with the encouragement of a local judge. Before law, she worked in office management across Texas, held property/casualty and health/life insurance licenses, and served as document control manager for the general contractor building the ExxonMobil campus in Spring, Texas. She opened the Palestine practice in 2020 and expanded into Huntsville in January 2022.
