About Cherubs Cafe

Cherubs Cafe serves breakfast and lunch in historic downtown Belmont, North Carolina. Holy Angels, Inc., a non-profit caring for children and adults with intellectual developmental disabilities and delicate medical conditions, owns and operates the cafe. Crew members who are Holy Angels residents work throughout the cafe, including serving customers, and profits fund Holy Angels programs and services. The menu covers morning favorites, salads, sandwiches, wraps and soup. Breakfast runs from 7:30am to 11:00am and includes the Jumbo Breakfast Sandwich, Classic Breakfast, Cloud Nine and breakfast casserole. Lunch sandwiches include the Cherubs Classic, City Club, Reuben, Woodrow cranberry and apple grilled cheese, Maria's Melt, Ham on Main and a deluxe grilled cheese. Salads include the East End Cobb, Point garden salad, Downtown cranberry spinach, Greek and chef salads. The cafe scoops Tony's Ice Cream in a dozen flavors with toppings, plus banana splits, sundaes, milkshakes and cookies. Online ordering, gift cards and catering are available, with delivery up to 20 miles. Some produce comes from the Holy Angels organic garden and greenhouse.

Cherubs Cafe is in its 29th year. It is one of several businesses owned by Holy Angels, which also operates the Cotton Candy Factory and Bliss Gallery on Main Street in Belmont and Spruced Goose Station in McAdenville. Holy Angels itself was founded in 1955 as a sponsored ministry of the Sisters of Mercy, beginning with its first resident, Maria Morrow.
