About 100 Black Men of South Metro Atlanta, Inc.

100 Black Men of South Metro Atlanta, Inc. mentors young Black men across the Atlanta metro area. Its flagship Rites of Passage Leadership Academy is a nine-month program for students in grades 8–12, built on workshops, one-on-one mentoring, field experiences and service projects. The chapter also runs Mirror 100, Collegiate 100, Emerging 100 and education programs, offering tutoring, scholarships, college preparation, financial literacy and health and wellness support.

Local ministers and community leaders approached Attorney Coleman Eaton in 1989 about the lack of mentoring for Black youth in Clayton and South Fulton counties. With guidance from Dr. Joseph Hoffman of the Atlanta Chapter, they petitioned the national organization and chartered the South Metro Atlanta Chapter. Six founding members launched it: Coleman Eaton, James Collier, Hillman J. Toombs, The Reverend Charles W. Grant, Sherman Lemon and Randall Ponder.
